Your Period is a GIFT!

I know, you have probably never been told that in your entire life. You’re probably wondering what the heck is wrong with this woman that she would call my period a gift. Listen to me, you have been lied too. You have been told that your period is icky, that it shouldn’t be talked about and that it’s normal to feel awful that time of the month. ALL LIES! You have been told that you can use hormonal birth control to stop your period from occurring and you have been told it is healthy for you to do so. MORE LIES.

When a woman is naturally missing her period, all sorts of test are performed to find out why because medical professionals KNOW that your period is a signal of good health. No period at all is referred to as amenorrhea and it is considered a serious health issues, unless you are present or post menopause.

Your period is a monthly update on your health. It is literally a physical sign of all the other processes going on in your body! When monitored properly it can tell us if your hormones are imbalanced, your iron is low or if your maybe under-eating. It can tell you more than most visits to the doctor!

Not only that, it’s a sign that your body is capable of growing a human life. How AMAZING is that!

 

If you period is heavy or painful it’s a sign that there are underlying issues that need to be addressed. It’s ok to feel a little under the weather for a day or two but it should NOT disrupt your daily life!
