#SweatingForTheWedding: Bring On Spring!

It feels like I haven’t written a blog post in ages! As I write this, there are 18 weeks left until the wedding. 18 WEEKS. It was 52 when Austin and I got engaged. How has time gone by so fast?! I guess I really shouldn’t be blinking…

Without further adieu:

The Workouts

Since I knew work would be busy and I would be staying late for the last month and a half, I asked charity for quick workouts that would still make me sweat but not take too much time. She delivered. The workouts involved weight lifting, conditioning, or a combination of the two. Anytime I had extra time (which wasn’t often) I would add a session of yoga to the end of a workout.

Recently, the weather has been beautiful. It got up to plus 8 this week which makes me want to run outside again. I’ve never liked running, but the more I’ve done it, the better I felt afterwards! And I love how much of a sweat it brings. So bring on Spring

The Wellness

The last month was probably my worst “wellness” time. I never forgot to take my probiotic with lemon water, but there were plenty of times I rushed out the door without eating breakfast and taking my vitamin D and omega 3. I also sucked at drinking lots of water. I usually try to drink 3L/day and when I do, I feel amazing: less tired, less bloating, clearer skin. Water is literally a miracle in a bottle! But this last month I was tired, bloated sometimes, and had my first breakout in a long time. It made me feel yucky inside and out and the only real change was the amount of water I drank. I still ate healthy, did all of my workouts, etc. However, work was much more stressful than usual, which doesn’t help. Luckily, it’ll slow done come May. Nevertheless, I cannot stress enough how important water is for our bodies. So drink up!

The Wedding

I’m not there yet, but I’m getting close to, “Oh my goodness, there’s so much to do, and so little time.” I know there’s lots of time left, but it feels like the clock is ticking double time and a half.

Since my last blog post, I have ordered the suits for the groomsmen and the dresses for the bridesmaids (that was an adventure, see below), booked our flights to Italy for our honeymoon, and been told when and where to be for my bridal shower in the Sault! I’ve also sent out the wedding invitations and am already receiving a lot of RSVPs (I appreciate y’all that RSVP’d right away)

I plan on making / buying all of my own decorations, so no hired decorator. This makes me a little anxious, as I haven’t even started them yet, but I know there’s still lots of time.

So the bridesmaid dresses…
I called the boutique I had discussed bridesmaid dresses with to officially place my order, only to be told the colour I wanted – which was planned with them in September – was discontinued. I’m not sure when they would have told me if I hadn’t called, but there I was without dresses in a VERY hard colour to find. I had my first feeling of panic since I started planning, but my maid of honour and bridesmaids got on it right away and found close to an identical match at another boutique! Crisis averted!

I’m so looking forward to seeing my family when I go home for my bridal shower. I’ll be road tripping it with a friend from Ottawa who’s also having her bridal shower in the Sault the same day! We’ll be stopping along the way to pick up Allie, my maid of honour, who will be my wing woman for bridal shop, wedding cake, and hair trial appointments. With me only being home every few months, I have to schedule multiple things at the same time! It’s going to be a whirlwind weekend!

In the next blog post, I’ll tell y’all all about the bridal shower, and will hopefully have started running again!

Thanks so much for following along with me while I’m #sweatingforthewedding
