Strawberry Lemonade Electrolyte Drink

This heat wave is making me thirsty! I don’t know about you but sometimes water just doesn’t cut it. Staying hydrated is crucial to our health and many people will turn to Gatorade for help. Unfortunately Gatorade neither quenches thirst nor hydrates you. It’s full of sugar, food coloring and some other ingredients of questionable origin. With that in mind I have created my own recipe for a healthy summer electrolyte drink.


You will need

2 cups of coconut water

1.5 cups of frozen strawberry

1/8 tsp of salt

2 TBSP of maple syrup

Lemon juice from a whole lemon

Directions: Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend until mixed. Makes 2-3 servings.

With these all natural ingredients you get two of the most important electrolytes, sodium and potassium. You also get a small dose of natural sugar to help keep you going during those long sweaty workouts. Enjoy!
